Please see the following proposal as included in the agenda package for the County Council meeting of December 4, 2024. It can be read here, as well as downloaded to pdf.
In September when it was suggested Lomond was going to possibly loose our Post Office, and replace it with “Super Boxes”, I sent a letter of concern to Martin Shields Office. Reply was TO CONTACT MAYOR KOCH. Explained how this change would mean a 1½-2 hour trip to Vulcan for residents to collect our parcels, creating a horrible inconvenience for everyone, particularly our seniors, especially in the winter. As well as taking yet another service away from our community. Medications are sent via mail and parcels from online shopping. Super boxes are often broken into. As Tax Payers in the County of Vulcan, we feel this should remain a service in our Village. Lots of seniors don’t have computers to reply to this, let’s see a signature sheet like with a petition so all residents may have their say in this matter.
Thank you for your comment, Judy. Feel free to encourage others to do so as well.
