Dear Residents & Ratepayers,

March started off with our regular meeting on the 9^th where we heard a presentation from STARS air ambulance providing an overview of their 2021 operations. We were able to finalize loan arrangements for the Carmangay Curling Association and the capital improvements that they are making to their facility. Also addressed was a minor land use bylaw amendment to rezone a parcel near Travers. We discussed the new draft recreation agreement with the Town of Vulcan as well.

Dear Residents & Ratepayers,

Viable and thriving communities rely on responsive representation in local government. Resident and ratepayer interest in the affairs of a municipal corporation allow an elected council to better understand the needs of the community, as well as the challenges faced by individuals. It is individuals reaching out and contacting their elected council, sharing perspective that might not otherwise be known, that can make a difference. To this end, as the municipal councillor for Division 6, please contact me about municipal business or community matters where you believe local government has a role to play.

Community news is frequently hilarious and helps one keep up on new business ventures, events, and everything else that is happening in the area.

In the era of “fake news,” I’m sure we can all agree that the standard bearers of truth, intelligence and accurate reporting are most certainly the Milo Can Opener and the Champion Chronicle!

A digital subscription to the Champion Chronicle costs $12/year. A paper copy can be mailed to you each month for $20/year (Champion local mail) or for $25/year (outside Champion local mail but in Canada).

A subscription to the Milo Can Opener costs $20/year (Milo local mail) or $25/year (outside Milo local mail but in Canada).

Different rates apply for hard copy mail delivery outside Canada.

Well, I am humbled by the tremendous support of Division 6 and will strive to be a
good County Councillor for our communities and our region.

Thank you!

To Mr. Fleetwood, thank you for your service these past four years. You have my
respect. I wish your family and you well, and appreciate your significant
commitment to the success of Vulcan County. I hope to work with you in other
endeavours for the sake of Alberta’s future.

As for the next four years, I look forward to working with a very dynamic group as
we tackle the challenges ahead of us. Congratulations to Jodie Gateman and Shane
Cockwill on winning your division races.

My website will remain as a tool for me to use in communicating with ratepayers. I
appreciate the conversations that I have enjoyed with you. There will be many more,
this I am sure. I look forward to helping navigate our way forward and will rely on
you for your input.
